Best Danish Waffles in Solvang. The ladies and girls are the friendliest too. My experiences with some of the other bakeries have been hit or miss, but Solvang Bakery always delivers.
This bakery is #1 in Solvang! You have to try the almond kringle. They will cut it up to a quarter or half but it's seriously so good. Never tasted anything like it. Also the bucket of Danish cookies are so delicious and worth the money. The almond tart is so good too and cinnamon twist. Literally any pastry you get here is so good I am going back tomorrow before I head home lol
Solvang is a place of great bakeries, and this one is no exception to the rule. Also very reasonably priced. I especially liked the Sarah Bernhardt (if you love chocolate) and the linzers/owl eyes. The butter cookies were also great - much better than the ones in the tin at Costco around Christmastime. You only get an assortment, but I especially liked the cinnamon, as it's like a butter cookie version of a snickerdoodle. But seriously, the linzers are delicious. 🤤
Awesome Bakery. They have the best tasting danish butter cookies and the BEST hot chocolate. The staff is so sweet and friendly very welcoming. Amazing pastries and the cookies are to die for. Make sure you go early it can be crowded during the holidays season. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in town next time. They have amazing ginger bread houses as well.
I haven’t had their danish butter cookies in many years. Hilary was fantastic to work with to get a tub shipped to my home in time for my birthday. The cookies arrived flawless! These cookies are exactly as I remember. Hold their shape but melt away in your mouth. Utterly craveable. I might need to make this an annual thing. Tub of cookies instead of cake? Yes, please!
Small and quaint but oh my goodness they amount of goodies they can pack in there! Everything we bought was fabulous, even the next day! This is definitely where you go for perfectly baked treats. We have absolutely zero qualms about going back, and in fact plan to the next time we're in town. This place contributed more to our holiday weight gain than any other place in town and we have no regrets.
The Solvang Bakery was recommended to us by a local who has lived in the area for decades. This smallish shop is big on beautiful, flakey, buttery, delicious pastries! They sell a wonderful assortment of baked goods including many tempting cookies. We also enjoyed their selection of cute gifts for all, babies through adults. We loved eating our pastries with hot flavorful coffee outside on the quiet rear patio. We will definitely go there again!
Well worth a visit! What looked to be a long queue outside was people looking at the rabbit and rolling pin in the window. Once inside we moved through quickly and the staff were super efficient. We bought a couple of pastries and enjoyed them outside. 🇩🇰
Was driving by this beautiful Danish town in early morning. Saw this bakery opens in Thanksgiving day so got to check it out. Very cute and festive decor and plenty of sweet treats and baked goods that just too good to pass up. They do have coffee and other drinks. Staff here are very nice, helpful and friendly. Got several goodies for road snack and the HUGE sweet pretzel too, $25 - not bad at all, and it’s very yummy, soft and not too sweet. Loving it.

Everything we tried was fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care. The bakery itself is charming, with a wonderful atmosphere that perfectly fits the cozy feel of Solvang. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed, and the experience was exactly what we had hoped for.
